2022 Artist Survey Highlights

All registered artists and a representative from each registered studio collective or gallery were asked to complete a short survey containing the following questions:

  • How many visitors did you have over the entire weekend?
  • How did the number of visitors compare to the last time that you were in the Open Studios Tour?
  • How did the dollar amount of sales compare to the last time that you were in the Open Studios Tour?
  • What went well on the tour?
  • What could we improve on for next time?

Analyzing the first three questions led to the following results.

Here is a representative sample of responses to “What went well”

  • Visitors were really interested this year and very friendly
  • I was surprised how many people had visited my website prior to visiting my studio
  • The map was very helpful for people to locate the studios they were interested in visiting; social media publicity leading up to the event was helpful
  • People very interested in asking questions and listening to descriptions of techniques
  • Visitors liked the Map Guide and the online map. They said that the tour was very well organized.
  • Having passports, families with children,interesting demos
  • The focused content presented to the public helped them understand what each artist was offering. The images used for representation were very high quality and professionally organized.

For the question on what could we improve there were a lot of different responses but just a few answers came up more than once. These were.
