Artist’s Statement: Born and raised in South Dakota and Nebraska, Bart grew up influenced by his grandfather, a graphic designer and his mother, a successful painter. He spent his childhood immersed in the local art culture, attending art classes taught by visiting artists and working alongsidehis mother at local art fairs. Bart won a number of awards for his drawings in high school and was honored by the Nebraska Scholars institute. He continued his educatio at the University ofSouth Dakota, earning a BFA in Printmaking and Gallery Management and began working in mixed media.After graduating, Bart worked as a gallery technician for the prestigious Bemis Center for Contemporary Art in Omaha, Nebraska – living and working with artists from around the world.
