Monica Catálan
My work explores inner landscapes—emotions, femininity, and the subtle experiences that shape us. I’m drawn to what is invisible: feelings and mental states that resist language but emerge through color, texture, and form. I paint mostly with alcohol inks on Yupo paper, letting the fluidity guide intuitive expression. I also create digital portraits and hybrid pieces that blend traditional and digital methods. Each artwork begins with a feeling and unfolds into a visual reflection of emotional energy. I aim to offer quiet moments of introspection—spaces where the viewer might recognize themselves.

Samantha Combs
Samantha Combs is primarily a soft pastel and watercolor artists that was born and raised in the U.S. and is of Mexican descent. The urge to create and therefore understand, has existed within her for as long as she can remember. Using soft pastel and watercolors amongst other media within her art practice is essential to how Samantha processes the beauty around her and yet, she has found that at times, we need to experience the world through another’s eyes to truly see what is in front of us. Samantha’s vision is that her art transports you and reignites the child-like wonder for the natural world that is long forgotten but tucked away deep within us; A soft reminder that we belong to nature and to each other.

Rachel Hadiashar
I have been photographing creative Oregonians for more than a decade, and often go on location to photograph organizations through the Portland metro area. My client list includes notable artists, musicians, authors, and thought-leaders.
The current portrait series focuses on photographing and interviewing people about their Zone of Genius. I am DEEPLY interested in the intersection of beauty, age, and power. Society tells us youth is to be valued; I witness a claiming of power with age. I reject late stage capitalism and false narratives.
Because of this commitment, I bring refreshing irreverence into my conversations with leaders. This puts people at ease because they know right away I am going to keep it real. I am grounded and curious.

Suchitra Komandur
I decided to pursue my childhood passion of art during the Covid pandemic. After working as a Computer Engineer for over 10 years, I was on a career break to spend time with my son. The stress and anxiety of the pandemic drove me to learn a few Indian folk art forms online. I came across the Zentangle® method and discovered the calming benefits. I decided to become a Certified Zentangle teacher to spread the joy to others. My work reflects my love for abstract art and also geometric designs. I love to experiment with different techniques in combination with the Zentangle art form. I also love to combine folk art forms or craft techniques with zentangle art to create unique pieces.

Mike Mason
As a Pacific NW native, the energy, vibrance and pureness of Nature has always fascinated me. I have dedicated my life to creating art that stays as close to the natural source material as possible. First, I gather organics from the earth, the air and the sea to create my perfectly limitless “palette.” Flower petals, foliage, moss, lichen, bark, seeds, pollen, marine flora and gossamers all lend radiant color, line, form and texture as my “brushstrokes.” I “paint,” by carefully arranging pressed and dried botanicals with tweezers, school glue, and a magnifying glass. I call these artistic renderings “Floral Impressionisms.” I enjoy translating how I see everyday sights using everyday elements to support our community and natural resources.

Jennifer Quan
I’m a wire sculpture artist based in Portland, Oregon, and my work centers on creating expressive forms that explore shape, pattern, and rhythm. I draw inspiration from the untamed beauty of the Pacific Northwest—forest trails, moss-covered stones, and the renewal of life each spring. Each piece is hand-knitted from a single, continuous strand of copper, brass, or steel-based wire.

Jahn Rise
My art is inspired by the desire to bring something into existence with love, intention, comfort, awe and inspiration. I draw my inspiration from my love of nature, animals, people and the cultures from around the world that have inspired me to feel joy. My focus has changed over the years as i love to continually push myself. My art consists of multiple ideas and intentions based on the form, functionality or non-functionality of the use or intent of the piece. From my viewpoint working with this medium is like star building or crystal forming in fast motion. The gases used, the heat from the torch and the minerals in the colored glass are all elements found in the creation of our wonderful universe.

Nadia Shaik
Welcome to my vibrant world! I’m Nadia Shaik—an award-winning author, multimedia writer, emerging artist, and entrepreneur. You might know me online as Nakia Shade. I invite you to explore enchanting realms shaped by my unique fusion of South Asian and African Diaspora influences in speculative fiction. My artwork blends familiarity and curiosity, brought to life through origami paper, washi tape, acrylic markers, and digital media. I love creating richly detailed mixed Black and Brown characters and neurodivergent misfits that reflect the beauty and complexity of our stories. Through visual art and storytelling, I aim to craft worlds and characters that are not only visually stunning but also deeply meaningful.

Susan Tait
“If I can write in cursive, or play a sport, I can learn to draw. Drawing leads to painting. And painting enables me to express myself when words fail and intuition prevails. This is the difference between invisibility and transparency.”
I use form and color to express what I can’t say. The best art I will ever do will support your own ability to create, wherever you create: home, work, or in the world. Exhibiting seeks to encourage and inspire others to create. Art is not all of “the arts”–but it speaks without words. By so doing, we learn new ways to recognize, and define, beauty, finding it in unlikely places along strange paths.

Candace Wilson
Born and raised in Aloha Oregon, graduated with an “Applied Design” degree from Southern Oregon University, went back to learn graphic design at University of Oregon. I became a graphic designer for years working in design and packaging. My love affair with clay started in high school when my teacher Judy Vogland not only taught me drawing and painting, but also introduced me to the potter’s wheel. I continued to take ceramics in college, along with painting and drawing. Since then, I have studied ceramics in Italy, also the School of Arts and Crafts. My journey in design and ceramics combined, offered me new and unique techniques to apply to clay. The work I do with clay reflects my graphic experience, using words, textures and images. My drawings and fonts are made into rubberstamps, then applied to wet clay. I enjoy making useable and whimsical creations, wheel thrown or slab built. My inspiration is to bring beautiful, positive, joyful items into existence for contemplation and thoughtful giving. I truly love what I do, and hope to bring joy to people, whether it be a cozy hand thrown coffee mug or a silly bird head sculpture to make people smile.
