Artist’s Statement: I enjoy creating subject matter found in nature, whether landscape, or animals. I’m a native Oregonian and I’m inspired and re-energized when I am outdoors, as I experience beauty, wonder, joy and peace. These are feelings I challenge myself to portray through my brushes as I paint. I like to encourage the collector with my nature inspired art and help them to take a moment, focusing on the many wonderful things that we often miss in our day-to-day busy lives. My creative process is simple. I start by selecting a few photos usually ones I have taken, to reference the image l would like to create. I paint the image by blocking in the colors and details with acrylic paint. I then add oil paint for depth and contrast, and any final details.
