Artist’s Statement: I am devoted to capturing the grandeur of wildlife and conveying their fragile future through my paintings. In my communion with wild animals, I have long felt their equality with humans and reject the notion that humans are superior. They experience every emotion we do: pleasure and pain, hardship and joy, parenting and family bonds, stress and rest. I feel a compelling need to communicate these similarities through my work. I aim to capture their personality and dignity, as a portrait painter conveys not just a likeness but an essence. When I achieve a distinctive gleam in their eyes, I feel a deep sense of accomplishment.
