Media: Oil paint on Canvas board or primed masonite board
Artist’s Statement: My style is Expressive and loose. I like to use large brushes and bright colors, painted in Oil., Plein Air, (outside) and Alla Prima, (wet to wet) technique. Each painting can take up to four hours on site out of doors and perhaps longer if it is painted in the studio. My paintings are on canvas board, each painting starts with a sketch to determine composition and color placement. I paint because it challenges me, painting fills me with joy and gets me out of doors, urban or rural. I have found like-minded painters and friends along the way and am constantly inspired to paint this beautiful state we live in. I hope the viewer feels and hears the wind, the birds and the chatter of passersby in each of my paintings.
