Media: fiber, mixed media, collage
Artist’s Statement: Fiber is my medium because it is alive with possibility – rigid or yielding, gossamer-thin or densely layered. Few materials offer such range. Over time my art has evolved from flat, structured pieces with squared edges. The art is still largely two-dimensional, but elements are now more open, extending away from the plane, reflecting a growing trust in instinct. I use whatever each piece calls for – textile, paper fiber, hand stitching, collage, layering. My subjects are the natural world and the built environment, translated into abstracted representation rather than literal transcription. Experimentation is essential. Not every piece succeeds, but the willingness to push past comfortable edges is what keeps the art honest and growing.
