JoAnn Pari-Mueller and Marie Helene Rake

JoAnn Pari-Mueller

Media: Watercolor, calligraphy, collage

Artist’s Statement: JoAnn enjoys exploring the ephemeral aspects of time and nature (flora and fauna), as well as probing open-ended narrative themes via paintings, artist books, and other formats. Happily, her themes and technical skill often undergo an alchemy that lead people to ask – “How did you do that?”

Marie Helene Rake

Media: Jewelry

Artist’s Statement: Born in France and residing now in the US, my creative instincts have been nurtured and growing thru my travel experiences. My strong desire to create always led me to connect with artisans and artists in the countries I visited. My education in the arts ranges from informal observations and participation to formal instruction in techniques and design at the craft Center at the University of Oregon, Eugene Community College and diverse workshops, lectures, and classes in the Pacific Northwest. My style is firmly rooted in the natural world, providing inspiration that leads to a modern and rustic imagery. Working primarily in silver with gold accents and precious and semi-precious stones, each piece emerges as a unique creation.
