Artist’s Statement: I believe life is art – the details, impressions, moods, colors, shadows and light are there around us all the time but it’s the awareness that makes the magic happen. That’s why art is so subjective and universal at the same time. As an artist I just try to express and interpret those things. That interaction between mind, heart and the outward world is compelling and personal to me as it is to every person but truly wonderful if we can share it. Art spills into everything I do, a natural consequence of my life view. In recent years my medium of focus has been watercolor. I am a member of Oregon Society of Artists, and The Washington County Art Alliance, and participate in Washington County Open Studio each year

Artist’s Statement: In my life of construction, electricity and code (now retired) I find that painting is refreshing to my perspective. Landscapes, Ocean Scenes, Reflections and the rest, are alluring to me. I enjoy the process, apply the paint and watch what happens. I really enjoy following my artistic side. Today I am trying different scenes, birds, roses, rocks on the shore. The more time I can spend in my studio the happier I feel. You are never too old to paint, if you are so inclined pick up a brush, dip it into paint then sling it onto the canvas!
