Artist’s Statement: My two current painting series are called “Fields” and “Flowers”. The Fields series presents a narrative about farm fields from an aerial perspective while the Flowers series resulted from my wintertime yearning for loose lively splashy colorful blooms. Some work from the Wetlands series is still available. My mixed media, somewhat abstract paintings, combine collage with acrylic paint, start with pieces from vintage road maps, and build in multiple layers. Come visit. Artist’s Statement: Each of my paintings is my way of “paying attention” and honoring a place, object or “critter” of beauty that I was privileged to see. Occasionally my imagination will improvise, as well. Whether painting “plein air” (outside), or working from my photo back in the studio, I respond to what moved me. My goal is to take you there emotionally and imaginatively. Primarily using pastels, I am also constantly exploring new methods and materials, striving to let each composition dictate the truest way to capture its goodness, truth and beauty.

Directions: Take Hwy 8 towards Forest Grove. Turn south at SW Hwy 47. Drive south for about 6 miles. Turn right on SW Old Highway 47. Left on SW Patton Valley Rd. (See a Reimer Nursery sign) In 1 1/4 miles turn left at driveway beside the red shipping container and follow the signs to the Art Barn.
