Open Studios will be go ahead in 2024 with a few leadership changes. Chris Goldthorpe is stepping down as chairman effective 1/31/2024 after leading the organization through the last three Open Studio tours. Chris will remain on the board and continue to be webmaster. Co chair Kimberly Ghaemmaghami will also be stepping down as co-chair while remaining on the board.

Anny Sears has been nominated to be the next chair and has the full support of the board.

We took a survey of the artists to see how many visitors they had and how they found out about the tour. The results were positive – the average number of visitors to each studio was up by 15%. Open studios 2023 starts today October 21, from 10am to 5pm. Open studios is two days only so be sure not to miss out.

Artist registration for Open Studios Tour 2023 is opens and runs until April 23rd at 6pm. The registration fees are the same as last year, which is $125 for an artist registration, $300 for a gallery registration and $500 for a studio collective. For more information visit our registration page. If you have already applied be patient, you will be hearing from us soon. As of 3pm on 4/20 we had 41 applications and we are busy reviewing all of these.

Finally we would like to invite you to visit the May reception of the Spotlights show at the Walters Cultural Center on Tuesday May 2nd from 5-8pm This is part of the Hillsboro first Tuesday artwalk. The show will feature 17 artists from the 2021 Open Studios Tour. If you want to ask any questions about the tour I will be there along with many other artists who will be happy to talk with you. If you missed the April reception you have a second chance to meet with the artists.
